Roses are Pink

Thank goodness for Fridays and student teachers! We are all so excited that this "full moon" week has come to a close! My student teacher~a total phenom~has had her final observation before midterms and completely rocked it! Go, Courtney! I am SO proud of her!
I thought I would post one of my favorite Valentine Reading Strategy activities today. I love Valentines Day and all the love that goes with it~especially the Valentines I get from the kiddos!
Diane deGroat has to be one of my favorite children's authors. She is right on the money with protraying these little ones through her characters! I totally believe it is all about being able to have a good laugh at the expense of our own actions!

On Tuesday, I will do a retelling with Diane de Groat and Gilbert's Roses Are Pink, Your Feet Really Stink! I  heart this book! The children get a huge kick out of it, too! (I love to hear their giggles when I read the Valentines composed by Gilbert and his friends). This is a great way to bring in those fab Reading strategies of predicting, retelling, and making connections! You can get a copy of the printable at my teacher store on TEACHERS PAY TEACHERS right here ROSES ARE PINK RETELLING PRINTABLE Have a GREAT Friday everyone!
